Miller Starts Preschool

Miller started 1 day a week at James' preschool Memorial Baptist in Greenville. She loves the interaction with other children, so hopefully this will be a good experience for her. She wasn't shy at all the first day, walked right in and started playing.

So glad her buddy Holton is in her class!

James' 1st Day of 4 year Preschool

James started 4 year old preschool last week. He will be going M-Th from 9-12. He has jumped right back into the swing of things at school and seems to be liking it so far. His teacher this year is Mrs. Smirne. He told me last night she was his best friend, so thats a very good sign and start to a new school year!

16 months old

Miss Priss is now 16 months old but we had her 15 month well visit last week so now would be a good time to update. Miller weighs 22lbs (25th percentile) and is 32 inches tall (75th percentile). She had been so petite until now. She has hit a growth spurt and her height has definitely gone up a lot in the past month. She is wearing 12- 18 month clothes and still a great eater. The only think that she will not eat is bread, but I guess that's a good thing. Miller runs faster than James did at this age although shes only been walking for 3 months. She is into everything and leaves a destructive path wherever she goes. I am constantly picking up after her. She is saying so many words and loves to repeat what you say. She loves to dance, especially in her car seat. Miller's favorite toys to play with are non-toys (plastic cups, a water bottle, wrapping paper, boxes, and plastic containers). Miller starts preschool 1 day a week next month (Monday's) and she will be in kindermusik on Tuesdays. I'm really excited for her to have some activities and playtime with children her age.

A day on the Farm

Last week we spent an afternoon in the tobacco field with Gray. Miller is not scared to get dirty and James would stay out there and work all day. Here are a few cute pictures from our afternoon.

Beach 2011

Miller was such bathing beauty and got so much attention on the beach. This child is fearless! She loved the water, sand, and making a mess.
Just one of her 10 bathing suits of the summer!
In her bikini...
We visited the aquarium. This is the only picture I got of both kids together the entire trip.
James and Daddy rode go karts. James talked about this for days!
The waterslides were fun for everyone! James didn't want to leave!
Miller and Daddy had fun too!
Miller out to dinner in my 30 year old dress. If I can find a picture of me wearing it I will post pictures of me in mine at this age. I am so glad she got to wear it and it sure looked cute on her.

We had a great vacation! It was a lot of work for Gray and I but the memories are worth it. I can't wait to go back next year!

4 years old

James turned 4 July 3rd. We were at the beach for the week and celebrated his birthday there. We had his party the week before we left (will post pics soon). I think he was a little confused about what day his real birthday was on but he definitely had fun celebrating 2 times. I will have to say James' 3rd year was a challenging but fun one. There is no such thing as the terrible 2's. 3 was not terrible by any means but 3 was full personality and challenges. At 3 James was potty trained, learned voice his opinion, learned to give up or try to give up a nap, choose what he wanted to eat, learned to get out of his car seat, and the list goes on. I love this age though. They are so innocent and sweet. James has such a tender heart but is also such a firecracker and wants things the way he wants them. I love how he wakes up every morning and asks "where we going today?" He knows all the words to his daddy's favorite songs. I love when I do something he thinks is funny he tells me "i'm so siwwy"! At times I think I embarass him. James plays so hard with his tractors and in his sandbox, he loves his blue blanket. Nothing makes hims happier than a new tractor or a truck. He thinks he is a farmer and he needs to go to work. I love this age and would love to freeze him. Its the transitional age between a toddler and a little boy. He will be in preschool only one more year and I can't believe we will be registering him for kindergarten in only 6 months. Happy Birthday my sweet little boy!

Mater

James (12 months)
(Miller 13.5 months)
James got the ride on Mater for his 1st Birthday. It was by far one of his favorite toys.! Miller has become attached to him too. Everytime we go outside this is her toy of choice. Thought it was cute I found these pics of them so close in age. James has a black eye in the picture and I don't even remember how it happened.

James' Swimming Lessons

James had so much fun at swimming lessons this year. He has been taking the past two years at Raynez Swimming in Greenville. The lessons are for two weeks and he progressed so much this year. He is swimming on his own maybe 10 feet without a float, can get in and out of the pool on his own, float on his back, go underwater and get a dive stick. I was so impressed with the progress he made this year. He is loving the pool and especially the diving board!

James and Miller both LOVE being outdoors. We spend the mornings and afternoons outside or at the pool. The mosquitoes are in Love with Miller. I think we need to get our yard sprayed. Here are a few pics of the past couple of weeks.

*13 Months *

At 13 months Miller is finally walking. Cave baby craw is her preferable method of getting around but she is taking 8-10 steps at a time. Still only 2 teeth but we are done with baby food. Miller only wants table foods and her favorites are red sauce based pastas, waffles, and granola bars. She also loves veggie sticks and french fries. Yogurt is about the only thing she will let me feed her with a spoon. Outside play is a favorite and Miller loves the pool. She also loves getting into anything James is trying to do. He always tells me "time for Miller's nap" and closes his door so she can't get to his toys. She does love him so much! She is saying a few new words and clearly says thank you, ball, and balloon. I love this age and wish I could freeze her for a little while!
