Favorite Things

James is at such a playfull age! His two most favorite things to do are play outside and play inside with his puppy that we gave him for his birthday. We think that James thinks the puppy is real. He drags it around the house and kisses it all the time. Its really cute to watch
Aunt Ashley came over this afternoon and took James for a walk. Here are a few pictures of him playing with his favorite things. Thanks Uncle Kevin and LeeAnna for the cute outfit. James looks like a true little boy!!!

Weekend update...

James spent the weekend with my parents in Smithfield and Gray and I had a weekend to ourselves. Friday, the 18th was my birthday and I spent the day shopping in Raleigh. On Saturday night Gray and I went out to eat and to a movie. We hadn't been out alone since our anniversary in April. We had a great time and James had a great visit with Grandma Nette and Granddaddy in Smithfield. I think he was over stimulated and entertained the whole weekend because he has been exhausted today. He woke up at 9:00 and is working on his second nap. Tomorrow James is getting his one year pictures taken so I'm sure I'll have some fun pictures to post soon! On Friday we are going to the doctor to get James tested for an egg allergy. He has gotten sick off eggs twice. I am still debating on geting the test done or waiting until he is older. If I wait until he's older maybe his body will be able to tolerate eggs. What do you think?

Gum in the Dryer

I am not in a good mood!

Just like Daddy

On Sunday we had a family reunion. For any of you that know Gray well, you know that he sweats a lot! I guess James will be taking after him. He played outside for about an hour running around and playing everywhere. When I put him in the stroller he was wiping his head and gave himself this mohawk. I think its pretty cute!

Little Boy

James has been mistaken for a girl so much it has really made me start to think before I comment on someone else's child. Almost every time we go out I hear "She is so cute"..."Oh look at the little girl"..."How old is she?" I just don't understand how this happens so much when he is wearing blue, has on an outfit with sailboats, or is wearing a giant red cowboy bib. Some people just don't know!!! Since this has been happening so much I just thought I'd let everyone know what he would look like IF he were a little girl....By the way he will probably kill me for this in about 10 years.

Happy 1st Birthday James!

Dear James,

Happy Birthday to my baby! Today is your very first birthday. One year ago today I was holding you in my arms for the first time. Today at one year, you weigh 24 lbs and are walking, babbling, and eating lots of new foods! You sometimes say "Hey, Mama, and Dada. Daddy loves coming home from work because you are so happy to see him. You giggle and race over to see him. You sleep so good and last night you went to sleep for the first time without your bottle. I think we may give it up completely. Some of your favorite things are riding around outside in your wagon and car, playing with blocks, and you love reading books. You could play all day. We had your Birthday party last Sunday at the pond. Lots of friends and family came and you had such a good time! Today we will celebrate even more. This past year has been the best of my life. We have such a special bond and I love waking up to your sweet smiling face every morning. From 6lbs 15oz to 24 lbs, you have grown so much. Mama and Daddy have grown too! We are much better people because you are in our lives. You are the center of my world sweet boy and I will love you for all the years of your life. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Love Always,
Mama
