8 Months Old

Eight months have flown by. Its hard to imagine in four short months I'll be planning Miller's first Birthday party! She turned 8 months on the 29th of December so this is a little post- Happy 8 months.
At 8 months Miller is getting up on her hands and knees and rocking. She spins and rolls to get anywhere she wants to go but is not crawling. She can stand un-supported against the coffee table but doesn't last long. She has learned patty cake and claps her hands nonstop. If we don't sing the song when she starts clapping she gets very frustrated. She also waves "hey" and "bye bye". Miller is still not loving her bottle (only drinks 4-6oz 4 times a day) and is still waking up during the night to eat. She slept through the night from 9 weeks old until she was 5 months. At 5 months she started waking up again and continues to get up. I know she has to be hungry so I always give in and feed her. We have let her "cry it out" a couple of nights but she is up for good super early in the morning. She loves solids and is eating 3 meals a day along with feeding herself puffs for snack.
Miller is such a trooper and hangs out with me 3 days a week in Greenville while James is in preschool. Her morning naps are really off those 3 days but she makes up for the lost time on our days at home. Her and James take an afternoon nap at the same time from about 1-4. Its so nice to have some alone time. This month Miller also had a very long cold and ran a fever with the cold. After 3 weeks of that mess we are all back to feeling better! Can't wait to see what she gets into this month!!

CHRISTMAS 2010

Sugar Cookies and Milk for Santa
James got WAY too many toys. Santa got a little excited this year!

Miller's pile...

SO SO excited about his new John Deere bike!

Miller had a Bailey's box under the tree from Daddy. It was a pearl bracelet. So sweet!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. James was so much fun to watch. Miller was such a trooper and napped well everywhere we went. We spent Christmas morning in Bethel, went to Robersonville for breakfast at Gray's parents house, lunch at his grandmothers, and then off to Smithfield for Christmas night. It was a busy day but we are thankful that we have our families close!

Christmas Eve

Now that Christmas Eve is finally here I am sooo excited for tomorrow!!! This is the first year James has really understood what Christmas is all about... When we put out our stockings James wants to leave a peanut butter and jelly out for Santa and cookies for baby Jesus. I am thankful that he knows Christmas isn't all about new toys and Santa! Boy is he excited about new toys though!! He is asking Santa for Stinky the Garbage truck, Buzz wings, John deere toys, and some new tools. Last night he decided that he really really needed an ambulance but we told him santa had already made all of his new toys.
These are a couple of pictures I took before Church last weekend...more Christmas pictures to come. We are going to church tonight in Bethel at 5 and then dinner at Gray's grandmother's house. Tomorrow we will wake up at home, open presents and head to Robersonville to Gray's parents house around 10. Lunch in Robersonville with Gray's other grandmother and then to Smithfield to spend Christmas night with my family. I am praying that everyone naps sometime during the day!
I hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Christmas Parades

Last Wed was the Robersonville Christmas parade. It was FREEZING but we toughed it out. James loves parades and is officially a candy snatcher!

Miller loved watching the parade also.. She looked so cute al bundled up.

Love this picture of James!

The Bethel parade was on Saturday. It wasn't as cold so it was much more enjoyable. The parade had so many animals, cars, and firetrucks. James loved it!

Gray joined us.. so happy he could come!

Our Elf Aiden

Meet Aiden our "Elf". James is loving having Aiden around and has been on his best behavior since he came to live with us. Hopefully Aiden will tell Santa all of the good things James has been doing and he will bring James all of the toys on his list!

Miller was really excited too!

Catching Up!

Miller is now 7 months old! She has finally learned to take long naps (2 a day 2-3hrs each) and is sleeping from 7:-7:30 - 7 in the morning. She is eating stage 2 baby foods and isn't picky at all. She has started to scoot backwards. She loves her big brother and he makes her laugh all the time! Mill'er's helmet has been a huge success. We had our 1 month follow up appointment yesterday and her measurments were great. She will only be in the helmet for 4 more weeks. I was preparing myself for 4 months, but thankfully her head has rounded itself out in 8 short weeks. This is the only picture I got of her on Thanksgiving.
FLORIDA TRIP
We took a 12 hour roadtrip to Tallahassee, FL the week before Thanksgiving to see my grandmother "B". It was the first time she got to meet Miller. Both kids did great in the car and now I know we can definitely do it again. We had a great time and it was so good to get away!

Miller and Her Helmet

Miller has had her helmet now for 2 weeks. She has done amazing with it. I think I was preparing for the worst but she honestly acts like it isn't even there. We are now wearing it for 23 hours a day. Her helmet makes her cheeks look so chunky! I will keep updating her progress. Hopefully it will continue to be smooth sailing!

6 Months Old!

Its so hard to believe Miller is already 6 months old. The second child goes by so so much faster than the first. At her 6 month checkup she weighed 16.3 lbs (25th-50th percentile) and was 25.3 inches tall (50th percentile). She is sitting up all by herself and pushing up on both arms and spinning in circles. She is eating solids at dinner time and loves all vegetables. I've also tried yougart and she ate the whole container. She's not too fond of fruits but I'm working on it. Miller also has had a flat spot on the right side of her head since birth and it hasn't corrected itself even with lots and lots of tummy time. It is called Plagiocephaly and we have been referred to an orthotist who will fit her for a cranial band/ helmet. Her case is not severe at all so hopefully she will only have to wear it 4-6 weeks. Our appointment is next Monday at 10:00. Wish us luck with the insurance company! Many insurance companies consider it cosmetic and I've heard that its a battle getting them to pay for it.
