We had a great time at Noah's birthday party. He is one of James' friends from school. He had a John Deere themed farm party and it was right up James' alley!

NO MORE BEDREST!!!!

I will be 33 weeks on Tuesday. My appointment last week went so much better than planned. The baby was perfectly healthy and so was my cervix. I have officially been taken off bedrest and can resume with a normal pregnancy. I still have a few restrictions.. no heavy lifting, not doing anything crazy, or going farther than an hour from home but basically I am free! We have been busy getting the nursery together. Everything is in her room but the crib. As soon as Gray gets a chance to put that together I will post pictures!

31 Weeks

Well I have made it to 31 weeks! We had a great appointment last Thursday and my cervix still hasn't changed. The doctor put me on modified bedrest for a trial this week. She said that I could go out to eat, take James to school, run an errand, but only be up for around 2 hours a day. When I'm at home I still need to lay down and take it easy. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:30 so if I've been doing too much it will show and that will be a sign for me to cut back my activity and take it a little easier. I am really hoping that I haven't overdone it because I have LOVED having a little freedom! I will update tomorrow with an update from my appointment!

28 weeks

On Friday I will have survived 4 weeks of bed rest. The first two weeks were the hardest, but it has gotten easier and easier. James has adjusted and has gotten used to our little routine. I have been doing a lot of reading, tv watching, and playing around on the computer. Thanks so much to everyone who has made meals, sent cards, e-mailed, and called. The little things really do matter and make the day go by faster.

My appointment went really well today. My cervix has held steady at 2.8 cm (5 weeks in a row). Obviously the bed rest is working and I have been doing a good job taking it easy. She is measuring about a week ahead and weighs 2lbs 11oz. I was hoping to get off bed rest at 3o weeks but today the doctor we saw said it would be at 32 weeks. 2 weeks sounded a lot better than 4 but it is well worth it in the end. He also advised us that we still take it week by week.

Sorry for the lack of pictures.... I need to get Gray to take some!

26 Weeks

I was 26 weeks on Tuesday. We had a great doctor's appointment! My cervix continuted to measure 2.8 cm which was no change than the previous week or the measurement at the hospital. Exactly what we were hoping for!!! She weighs 1lb 14 oz and continues to be healthy! I will have appointments every Tuesday until I reach 30 weeks.

I am still on strict bed rest but the doctor said that once a week I could ride to someone's house and lay on their couch for a change of scenery. He said that I needed it for "mental health"! We also got to go out to eat at a restaurant!!! It felt so good to be "normal" for a day!

I have only gained 3.4 lbs in 26 weeks and still not showing too much! I feel great except I am having some headaches and its hard to sleep at night. I'm sure the sleeping is an issue because I am lounging around all day. I have joined a few mom groups online and it is so nice to talk to other people who are also in my situation!

UPDATE

Well it has been a month since I last posted on here. We have had a lot going on so here's an update...

Last Friday I went to the doctor for a checkup. I have been having frequent urinary tract infections this pregnancy and really didn't think much of it. Well, I tested positive for another infection so they decided to do an ultrasound just to make sure everything looked ok. After the ultrasound I am paitently waiting for the doctor to come in the room, when she finally comes in I see a huge folder in her hand that says Pitt Memorial Hospital. I thought I was headed home, but I eneded up in the hospital for 2 days.

The ultrasound revealed that infection in my body had caused small contractions that I couldn't feel. These contractions caused my cervix to thin out and for me to dilate. I am only 25 weeks pregnant so this is considered pre-term labor.

I spent Friday and Saturday night in the hospital and was released around lunch on Sunday. I am on strict bed rest for 2-3 weeks and then hopefully moderate bed rest until I reach 30 weeks. I can get up and down to use the bathroom, take a shower, and get something to drink. This is just based on a day by day basis. I will be going to the doctors office for an ultrasound every week and the doctor I see that day will let me know what I can and can't do. Hopefully my measurements will continue to look good and sooner than later I will be able to start slowly moving again.

I am so thankful that we have family so close and that this is not a busy time of the year for Gray. He has been so helpful so far. I've just got to keep myself entertained for the next few weeks and take each day at a time! I will definitley keep everyone updated!!!

James and the Combine

James is 100% obsessed with combines. Gray has FINALLY finished picking beans so we will have to find another form of afternoon entertainment!
