36 Weeks

The countdown is on!! Today I'm 36 weeks and had a great appointment! I am 2 cm dilated and 50 % effaced. Although this is progress, the doctor pretty much said it will just make my labor easier. I have been having contractions but nothing regular so they hooked me up to the contraction monitor and I also had a growth ultrasound. I had 12 contractions while I was hooked up but nothing was consistent or large. The ultrasound looked great and she is weighing 5lbs 10 oz. James weighed 6lbs 14 oz so it looks like she will be no larger than 7-7.5lbs even if she decides to wait 4 more weeks. I feel like I have so much to do and I'm running out of time! Gray has been working really late and has been making up for all of the time he lost while I was on bedrest. Thankfully James is still taking 2-3 hour naps so I am getting everything that I need done during his naptime.
LeeAnna is throwing me a shower in Smithfield this weekend. I am really excited and can't wait to catch up with friends and family!

Easter 2010

Saturday we went to an Egg hunt in Robersonville. James was the youngest child there, but definitley the entertainment of the group. He ran around showing everyone his Duke outfit. Gray has really started him early. He made sure everyone knew that Duke was in the final four.

James' Easter basket.... Next year I need to add some eggs. He was so confused that the Easter bunny didn't bring any eggs. He loved his Max and Ruby beanie babies!

James ate peeps on his first Easter. Yellow sticky sugar was all over his clothes. Gray always had peeps in his basket when he was younger and insisted that James had some this year.

The only picture I got of James in his Easter clothes. It is really becoming difficult to get a good picture of him.

After church and a good nap, we cleaned up outside and played all afternoon and into the night. James cleaned his tricycle all afternoon. I wonder where he gets it from... The water hose is the ultimate entertainment for a 2 year old. He got a nice tricycle for Christmas but insists on riding this one. He calls it his "old bike". His knees are almost touching the handlebars.. I guess its an attachment thing.

We had a great time at Noah's birthday party. He is one of James' friends from school. He had a John Deere themed farm party and it was right up James' alley!

NO MORE BEDREST!!!!

I will be 33 weeks on Tuesday. My appointment last week went so much better than planned. The baby was perfectly healthy and so was my cervix. I have officially been taken off bedrest and can resume with a normal pregnancy. I still have a few restrictions.. no heavy lifting, not doing anything crazy, or going farther than an hour from home but basically I am free! We have been busy getting the nursery together. Everything is in her room but the crib. As soon as Gray gets a chance to put that together I will post pictures!

31 Weeks

Well I have made it to 31 weeks! We had a great appointment last Thursday and my cervix still hasn't changed. The doctor put me on modified bedrest for a trial this week. She said that I could go out to eat, take James to school, run an errand, but only be up for around 2 hours a day. When I'm at home I still need to lay down and take it easy. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:30 so if I've been doing too much it will show and that will be a sign for me to cut back my activity and take it a little easier. I am really hoping that I haven't overdone it because I have LOVED having a little freedom! I will update tomorrow with an update from my appointment!

28 weeks

On Friday I will have survived 4 weeks of bed rest. The first two weeks were the hardest, but it has gotten easier and easier. James has adjusted and has gotten used to our little routine. I have been doing a lot of reading, tv watching, and playing around on the computer. Thanks so much to everyone who has made meals, sent cards, e-mailed, and called. The little things really do matter and make the day go by faster.

My appointment went really well today. My cervix has held steady at 2.8 cm (5 weeks in a row). Obviously the bed rest is working and I have been doing a good job taking it easy. She is measuring about a week ahead and weighs 2lbs 11oz. I was hoping to get off bed rest at 3o weeks but today the doctor we saw said it would be at 32 weeks. 2 weeks sounded a lot better than 4 but it is well worth it in the end. He also advised us that we still take it week by week.

Sorry for the lack of pictures.... I need to get Gray to take some!

26 Weeks

I was 26 weeks on Tuesday. We had a great doctor's appointment! My cervix continuted to measure 2.8 cm which was no change than the previous week or the measurement at the hospital. Exactly what we were hoping for!!! She weighs 1lb 14 oz and continues to be healthy! I will have appointments every Tuesday until I reach 30 weeks.

I am still on strict bed rest but the doctor said that once a week I could ride to someone's house and lay on their couch for a change of scenery. He said that I needed it for "mental health"! We also got to go out to eat at a restaurant!!! It felt so good to be "normal" for a day!

I have only gained 3.4 lbs in 26 weeks and still not showing too much! I feel great except I am having some headaches and its hard to sleep at night. I'm sure the sleeping is an issue because I am lounging around all day. I have joined a few mom groups online and it is so nice to talk to other people who are also in my situation!
